The Newman SLB-2044 Stationary Box Shaving Machine is designed to produce premium quality shavings from logs and timbers. Logs are loaded into a stationary hopper and shaved by two 10-1/4″ diameter cutterheads. Shavings are produced in both directions as the cutterhead carriage traverses beneath the log hopper. Shaving thickness, width and length can be easily adjusted. The SLB-2044 utilizes a 5/8″ diameter cable drive system powered by a 10 HP Heavy Duty Gear Motor. The cutterhead carriage rolls on extra heavy duty standard off-the-shelf V-roller bearing units. (4 per side).

The cutterhead assemblies eject from the machine on motorized slides for ease of knife maintenance.

Cutterheads:
Two cutterheads each with 10-knife rows, 45″ long, 10-1/4″ cutting circle. Each cutterhead comes with one set of knives, gibs and gib screws. Knife height is easily set with the furnished hammer gage.

Standard Motors:
Cutterhead: Two 75 HP, 1750 RPM, 60 Hertz, Premium Efficiency, TEFC Motors complete with Variable Frequency Drives for control of Cutterhead RPM.

Cutterhead Carriage Drive:
Utilizes 10 HP Heavy Duty Gear Motor, AC Variable Frequency Controller and 5/8 Dia. Cable Drive.
Carriage Travel is 130″ / Cutterheads cut in climb cut rotation / One head cuts in each direction.

Construction:
Cutterhead Carriage Frame: Constructed of 1″ Steel Plate.
Wear surfaces are replaceable. Tables are made of Abrasion Resistant Wear Plate.
Log Hopper is constructed of 3/4″ Steel Plate. Heaviest construction in the industry.

Capacities:
Log Hopper: 44″ wide x 105″ Long x 50″ Deep.
Minimum cut 1/16″ per pass. Maximum cut 1/4″ per pass.
Cutterhead produces shavings in both directions.
Feed Rate: 25 to 100 Lineal Feet per Minute.
Shipping Weight: Approximately 30,000 lbs.
